Math Race is a free browser game. We collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number. This page explains what is stored, where and why.
Who we are
Math Race (mathrace.app) is run by Oleksandr Dordiuk, a sole trader registered in Poland, who is the data controller.
Contact for any privacy question or request: hello@mathrace.app.
Stored only on your device
Your records, settings, language, chosen runner, nickname, daily-challenge results, streak and purchases are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to us unless you use one of the features below.
You can erase them at any time: Settings → “Reset progress”, or clear the site data in your browser.
Anonymous statistics
To understand how the game is played we record events such as “page visited”, “race finished”, “race abandoned”, “shared a challenge” or “game installed”, together with: language, country (worked out by our hosting from the connection; the IP address itself is not stored), device type (phone, computer or installed app), how many days ago the device first opened the game, game mode, level and results, loading speed and technical errors.
We do not use cookies or device IDs for this, and events cannot be linked to a person or to each other. Your own device keeps only the dates of the first visit and installation.
In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first. You can turn statistics off at any time in Settings → “Anonymous stats”. Statistics are kept for up to 13 months.
Daily challenge leaderboard
If you choose to join the daily leaderboard, we store the nickname you enter, a random player ID created by your browser, your result (gates and time), runner and country. Please do not use your real name as a nickname.
Leaderboard entries are kept for 90 days. To have an entry removed earlier, write to us with the nickname and date.
Reminders (push notifications)
Only if you turn reminders on, we store the push subscription address issued by your browser, your time zone, language and the date of your last race and your streak — to send at most one reminder in the evening and one in the morning.
Turning reminders off (in the game or in your browser) deletes the subscription. Subscriptions that stop working are deleted automatically, and unused ones after 90 days.
Moving progress to another device
When you request a transfer code, a copy of your progress (records, settings, nickname, streak, purchases) is stored under a random code for 30 days so you can open it on another device. After 30 days it is deleted.
Security and hosting
The game is hosted by Cloudflare. To stop abuse and cheating, your IP address is processed briefly: requests are rate-limited using a one-way hash of the IP that is deleted within two hours, and before an official daily-challenge attempt Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request comes from a real browser. Cloudflare may process technical data under its own privacy policy.
Advertising
Free players may see an occasional ad from Google (AdSense) — only between races, never during one. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads.
In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent form lets you choose whether ads may be personalised; without consent only non-personalised ads are shown. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Legal bases
Consent — statistics (where required), reminders and personalised ads. Legitimate interest — security, preventing cheating and running the leaderboard you chose to join. Performing your request — progress transfer.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and does not require any personal data to play. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; a parent or guardian can contact us to remove a leaderboard entry or any other data.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Most data lives only on your device, so you can delete it yourself; for anything stored on our side, write to us.
You can also complain to a data protection authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl).
Changes
If we change how the game handles data, we will update this page and its date.
