How to remember the 8 times table
- 1
Multiplying by 8 is doubling three times: 8 × 6 → 12 → 24 → 48.
- 2
8 × n = 10 × n − 2 × n: 8 × 7 = 70 − 14 = 56.
- 3
The last digits go round in a loop: 8, 6, 4, 2, 0 — 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80.
- 4
Order doesn’t matter: 8 × 9 = 9 × 8 = 72. Learn a fact once and you know two — and you already know part of this table from the others.
- 5
Division is multiplication backwards: 72 ÷ 8 = 9, because 8 × 9 = 72. Learn to multiply and division comes free.
