  1. 4 × 1=4
  2. 4 × 2=8

How to remember the 4 times table

  1. 1

    Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 4 × 7 → 14 → 28.

  2. 2

    The last digits repeat in a loop: 4, 8, 2, 6, 0 — 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40.

  3. 3

    Every answer is even — if you get an odd number, something went wrong.

  4. 4

    Order doesn’t matter: 4 × 8 = 8 × 4 = 32. Learn a fact once and you know two — and you already know part of this table from the others.

  5. 5

    Division is multiplication backwards: 32 ÷ 4 = 8, because 4 × 8 = 32. Learn to multiply and division comes free.
